This week we chat with Agent Assistant, Claire! She walks us through her days of interning in general management and casting offices, as well as her crazy days of stage managing for Sleep No More. Claire now assists at an NYC Talent Agency that represents actors in theater, film, and television. She chats about how being a perfectionist didn't suit her in the acting world, but how it's perfect for her current line of work. We also laugh about Millionaire Matchmaker and other ways to relieve stress if you work in the entertainment biz.
That clinking, clanking sound, which makes the world go round! A special new year edition in which Caralie and Daniel discuss the financial realities of performing in NYC. They cover union-mandated minimums for performers, personal money advice, current rents, and #fairwageonstage.
Sean Kleier comes from a background unlike most our guests. Not convinced arts could be a job – it wasn’t until later he started to pursue. After moving to NY, nabbing a restaurant job, doing open mics, getting looped into the commercial world, his viral video got the attention of an agent. Now Sean is a series regular on Bravo’s Odd Mom Out and chats about all his mistakes as well as his socially conscious side projects.
