Karl Bury gets my highest recommendation. My acting has grown immeasurably since being in his master class for professional actors.

Application to take the class
Class meets once a week for 4 hours. Karl teaches multiple nights per week.
Protege of Larry Moss
Karl has a very astute eye. He really knows the craft and what he's talking about. Has an encyclopedic knowledge of plays. He studied under Larry Moss for years. Can be really inspiring knows how to push his actors to improve.
At times, I felt intimidated, but as Karl has matured as a teacher this happens less and less frequently.
Recommended? Yes. Great class for all levels. Not airy fairy. Really meat and potatoes. Great teacher for teaching the craft and how to fix particular acting problems.

Karl's attention to detail and diligence in his preparation for class make him a terrific teacher and mentor. He goes above and beyond in his research of the material and the playwrights so he is exceptionally prepared to work on the material for the week. He also is an excellent teacher in the fact that he teaches the student for their specific needs and not a generalized idea of "what should be." I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in taking their craft to the next level.

Acting Class, Weekly Class, 4 Hours written by Anna Garduno
I highly recommend Karl Burys acting class. In addition to being a wonderful actor in his own right he has insight, and practical tools he shares with all his actors so they move forward in both the craft and the business of acting. He also draws a very talented committed group to his classes. His passion, experience, and intuition are all rare and invaluable.
A steal!

Highly recommend! This class is perfect for anyone serious about acting and committed to their artistic development. Karl has given me practical tools to apply on stage, on set and in the audition room. This is the result of his years of experience as a working actor. His unique ability to diagnose and help an actor overcome any technical or personal blocks is one of the reasons I continue to take his class. The room is full of dedicated, supportive, and talented actors that Karl has created a safe environment for. Any success I've had in the industry I have to attribute to the time I've spent studying with him.

Karl is a very honest and insightful teacher. He pulls no punches, but is fair and sensitive to the delicacy of the actor's instrument. His critiques are spot on and are always given in a supportive and helpful way that champions the actor and their instrument. In the past I've worked with teachers who, when frustrated, attack the actor in a personal way out of their own insecurities. I've never seen Karl do that and that's why his students always feel safe to explore, experiment and even "fail" towards success. I couldn't ask anything more out of a teacher or a class!
